1. The Internet vs. The World Wide Web
The Internet (or "Net") is a global network of digital devices (computers, smartphones, tablets) connected together to exchange data.
The World Wide Web (WWW) is a system of websites and web pages accessible via the Internet.
Consider a house in a city – the web pages are the rooms, connected to each other by doors and hallways. The website is the house itself, and the World Wide Web is the city, connected to the houses by roads (the information superhighway).
- World Wide Web: The entire City.
- Website: A House in the city.
- Web Pages: Rooms inside the house, connected by doors/hallways.
- Information Superhighway: The roads connecting houses.

2. Web Pages, HTML, and Hyperlinks
Web pages are created using HTML (HyperText Markup Language). Pages contain text, graphics, audio, video, and interactive elements.
Hyperlinks connect pages together across the web. Every hyperlink has two main components:
- Source Anchor: The text, image, or button you click on.
- Destination Anchor: The web address or file location the link takes you to.
